Living
Motion
A journey
A miracle
Aliveness
Existence
Sentience
A treasure
Not our own
Very simple
A laboratory
Architecture
Very complex
Worth living
A sacred trust
Christ’s life
A contribution
A life rescued
An unread poem
Intensely real
Sometimes hard
A gracious gift
A happy journey
The gift of God
Time management
What we make it
A proving ground
A thing of truth
A wondrous thing
An enduring race
Moulded by faith
The best teacher
Very interesting
A beautiful thing
A great adventure
About the moments
An amazing wonder
But a day at most
Empowering others
The greatest gift
A learning process
A work in progress
An ongoing process
Enduring endeavour
Given to all of us
A ladder, not a bed
An important matter
Filled with seasons
A battle and a march
A constant education
A glorious adventure
A stranger's sojourn
A constant experiment
A period of existence
A process of learning
A series of surprises
A wondrous phenomenon
Mysterious and sacred
One grand, sweet song
Practicing for heaven
Too short to be small
A collection of habits
A glorious opportunity
A series of adventures
A series of recoveries
Not easy for any of us
Shaped by our thoughts
Surviving what happens
To be lived for others
Too short not to smile
95 percent anticipation
A mission, not a career
A picnic on a precipice
About finding our place
An opportunity to serve
Mostly froth and bubble
The greatest art of all
The leader's laboratory
A glorious cycle of song
A marathon, not a sprint
A present, not a promise
Enjoying the gift of God
Filled with endless hope
Made up of little things
Memories and experiences
A long lesson in humility
A series of awkwardnesses
A vast consequential epic
Great when we’re in shape
Hidden with Christ in God
Something that we receive
The greatest blessed gift
What our thoughts make it
A garden forever in flower
A process, not a substance
An object lesson to others
Like a stroll on the beach
Nothing without friendship
Shaped from the inside out
The train, not the station
To be enjoyed, not endured
Too short for a long story
A challenge we must take on
A life, no matter how small
A test one way or the other
Beautiful in its simplicity
Full of great opportunities
Full of happiness and tears
Made up of minute fractions
To be lived, not controlled
A destination, not a journey
A lot of everyday adventures
An art, not an exact science
Brighter on the lighter side
Determined by its activities
Fragile - handle with prayer
Sustained by the word of God
The space between our things
Too short to be frowned away
Too short to dust every week
Too short to read a bad book
A succession of readjustments
About moments, not milestones
Full of endless possibilities
Not what we expected it to be
The result of all our choices
A collection of happy memories
A daring adventure, or nothing
A journey through a wilderness
A matter of choice, not chance
A talent committed to our care
Always moving toward something
An adventure to enjoy creating
An opportunity to benefit from
Too short to sleep it all away
Very tough if we don't laugh
A message scribbled in the dark
A mountain of solvable problems
A work in progress
A series of commas, not periods
About holding on and letting go
Largely a matter of expectation
Not a haphazard, emotional life
Not life at all without delight
Observable, something possessed
The ability to start over again
To be entered upon with courage
Trusting in God, no matter what
A character-building opportunity
A collaboration, not a solo act
A matter of really tough choices
A preparation for what’s to come
An adventure, not a package tour
Filled with love for God and others
Full of challenges and surprises
God’s, to be treated as such
More important than architecture
Not living, but living in health
Not measured by the time we live
An expression of all our thoughts
Good when we have a good sandwich
The best gift, with the rest as extra
Too complicated not to be orderly
Trying things to see if they work
Worth living when we find purpose
A continuous process of adjustment
Like a garden, we reap what we sow
To be lived for God and for others
A balance between rest and movement
A long pilgrimage from fear to love
A mirror of our consistent thoughts
A question in the form of an answer
A series of relapses and recoveries
A series of things that just happen
Filled with varied responsibilities
Painting a picture, not doing a sum
A bunch of nows, one after the other
A passage through a museum of beauty
A series of a thousand tiny miracles
About contribution, not accumulation
Beautiful, when we make it beautiful
Like the ocean - it goes up and down
Problems, living is solving problems
The art of drawing without an eraser
Too short to be wondering 'what if?'
Too short to stress the small things
An echo - what we send out comes back
For participating, not for spectating
Short, but its ills make it seem long
So urgent it necessitates living slow
The moments that take our breath away
The past, the present and the perhaps
Too short for aught but high endeavor
Too short to be vengeful or malicious
What happens when we make other plans
What's happening while we're worrying
A series of collisions with the future
An adventure that is best lived boldly
An eternal journey in search of beauty
As simple or complicated as we make it
Time given to us to learn how to live
To be inspired by deeper, truer motive
A journey with almost limitless detours
A process of trading hopes for memories
Accepting what is and working from that
Like a long journey with a heavy burden
Opportunities, to earnestly be improved
Fearing God and keeping His commandments
Growing and improving and getting better
Lived forwards, but understood backwards
Measured by its depth, not by its length
Not nearly as stable as we want it to be
Relationships - the rest is details
So hard, how can we be anything but kind
A life taken from sin and given to Christ
A sermon either for Christ or against Him
A tapestry woven by the decisions we make
An unending engagement on the battlefield
Like walking - we take one step at a time
Meant to be fun and joyous and fulfilling
Generally something that happens elsewhere
Not a journey we want to make on autopilot
To be lived through action not by dreaming
Too short to dwell on what might have been
What happens when we're doing other things
A big collaboration we can't navigate alone
Consecrated to doing the will of God
A perpetual instruction in cause and effect
Lived in moments, not hours, days, or years
More about the journey than the destination
Sad enough without people writing sad books
Short but there is always time for courtesy
The application of noble and profound ideas
The management of risk, not its elimination
Very simple - what we give out, we get back
A gift to respond to with grace and courtesy
About becoming a better version of ourselves
About what we have to give, not what we have
Beautiful if we are on the road to somewhere
Defined by what we give, not what we achieve
Like walking through snow - every step shows
Too short to not be happy and grateful today
A thing which can never be replaced when lost
Frittered away by detail - simplify, simplify
Hard enough without us embellishing the drama
Not a checklist of acquisition or achievement
A process of continually reordering priorities
A series of lessons that have to be understood
About giving, not about giving up or giving in
Easier when we are comfortable in our own skin
Easy to chronicle, but bewildering to practice
Full of surprises, some good, some not so good
Simple, but we insist on making it complicated
About embracing each moment that is given to us
Getting up an hour earlier to live an hour more
Only meaningful when we are striving for a goal
Not accountable to us - we are accountable to it
Of little value unless it be consecrated by duty
Something that everyone should try at least once
What happens while we’re busy making other plans
A continuous exercise in creative problem solving
Lived in the present and directed toward a future
Not the mountaintops, it's the walking in between
Never easy for anyone - be gentle with one another
Not all trials - there are victories and blessings
Not so much a matter of position as of disposition
Not so much what we accomplish as what we overcome
Simple unless we find a way to make it complicated
5 percent what happens, and 95 percent how we react
An experience to be had, not a problem to be solved
Lived on the inside - what's outside doesn't matter
What comes along after we’ve planned something else
An adventurous story filled with triumph and tragedy
Futile unless it be directed towards a definite goal
Like a bicycle we keep moving on to maintain balance
Something that the Giver takes back again to himself
Too short to learn everything by personal experience
Daily surrender, submission, and continual overcoming
A dream come true of a dream we never knew we even had
A matter of choices, and every choice we make makes us
Too short to paint something we don’t have feeling for
What happens to us while we're planning something else
A series of choices that are made in the present moment
Not so short but that there is always time for courtesy
A gift to be grateful for and not a property to cling to
A succession of moments - to live each one is to succeed
God's gift to us - what we do with it is our gift to God
Hard, but it's even harder when we don't want to face it
Not a solitary activity - live well by living for others
The manifestation of God Himself, the source of all life
Too solemn to be absorbed in temporal or earthly matters
Much more interesting when we make a little bit of effort
A life of warfare in which we must watch and pray and toil
Always beautiful when we focus on the greatness of our God
Bristling with thorns, remedied by cultivating one’s garden
A succession of lessons which must be lived to be understood
Characterized by thoughtful attention to the needs of others
A thing of beauty in the midst of a lost and despairing world
10 percent what happens to us and 90 percent how we react to it
Not made by the dreams we dream, but by the choices that we make
Punctuated by the successful completion of many little recovery plans
Thickly sown with thorns, to be remedied by passing quickly through them
The Lord’s - invested with a responsibility that we do not fully comprehend
An intensely solemn thing in view of the account which all must render to God
Trying, failing, learning, trying, failing, learning, trying, failing, learning
A mysterious and sacred trust with precious opportunities to faithfully be improved
Too valuable, too full of solemn, sacred responsibilities, to be wasted in pleasing self
Entering a narrow, self-denying path and pressing on through difficulties and discouragements
The capacity for growth, reaction to stimuli, metabolism, energy transformation, and reproduction
A characteristic of something that preserves, furthers or reinforces its existence in the given environment
Too short for us to turn our feet in any path that imperceptibly leads away from the only true and safe path
Chaotic – often unbearably so but relieved by dividing some of that chaos into lists to make the onslaught manageable
A quality that distinguishes matter that has biological processes, such as signaling and self-sustaining processes, from matter that does not
A process of becoming more and more like Christ in which we exercise our endurance by fixing our eyes on him, the author, and the finisher of our faith
Not made up of great sacrifices and duties but of little things in which smiles and kindness given habitually are what win and preserve the heart and secure comfort
Valuable only as it is used for investing our powers so that they may yield the greatest profit, and doing our most for the glory of God and the benefit of others
God's manifest action in us and our obedient response to God reverently rendered by our action toward others and, together with them, toward the good of all creation
More than many take it to be - it does not consist wholly in gentleness, patience, meekness, and kindliness, but also of courage, force, energy, and perseverance
