Inseparable from faith
Having a contrite heart
Sincere regret or remorse
The soul's divorce from sin
Ethical self transformation
Powerful spiritual medicine
The breakthrough of revival
A conversion from sin to God
Being sorry for our misdeeds
The mother of all joy in Jesus
One element of atoning for sin
A feet-on-the-ground kind of word
Getting painfully honest with God
Sorrow for any thing done or said
Being sorry enough to quit our sin
The inseparable companion of faith
The most divine of all acts of man
Turning toward God and away from sin
A beautiful word and a marvelous refuge
Faith's twin brother, born at the same time
A promise or resolve not to repeat an offense
A change of behavior which invites forgiveness
The hope-filled path to a more glorious future
Essential to our well being in eternal progress
The inseparable companion of saving faith in Christ
Like antiseptic - at first, it stings, then it heals
The highest form of worship that we can give to God
The sweet fruit that comes from faith in the Savior
A result of God's kindness, not a prerequisite to it
Repenting especially for misdeeds or moral shortcomings
The key with which we can unlock the prison from inside
An elemental transformation in our mind, heart, and life
The key that unlocks the door to all that God has for us
An admission that our way is wrong and God's way is right
A change of willing, feeling and living, in respect to God
The clearing away of the rubbish of the past temple of sin
The first step on the path back to our relationship with God
The mortification of the flesh and the renewing of the Spirit
An admission of, hatred of, and turning away from sin before God
Remedial work to mend our minds and hearts, which get bent by sin
The most practical of all words and the most practical of all acts
Not punishment, it is the hope filled path to a more glorious future
An expression of gratitude rather than an effort to earn forgiveness
A characteristic of the whole life, not the action of a single moment
A stage in Christian salvation where the believer turns away from sin
A complete breaking off from sinful habits, and an abiding hatred of all sin
The act of turning from sin and returning to God by trusting in Jesus Christ
The relinquishment of any practice, from conviction that it has offended God
A decision to follow Jesus Christ and become his pilgrim in the path of peace
A grace of God's Spirit whereby a sinner is inwardly humbled and visibly reformed
Something that is brought about in the human heart by the work of the Holy Spirit
An admission of guilt for committing a wrong or for omitting to do the right thing
Not merely turning away from our sin but turning to the Lamb who takes away our sin
Not what we do in order to earn forgiveness but what we do because we have been forgiven
A working of the heart until our sin becomes more odious to us than any punishment for it
A commitment to personal change and the resolve to live a more responsible and humane life
The true turning of our life to God, a turning that arises from a pure and earnest fear of Him
A determination to now do the will of God as He reveals it to us, not just sorrow for past sins
Not only stopping doing those things which are wrong but starting doing those things which are right
Giving up fighting against God and stopping attempting to gain our own salvation through our own works
Sorrow over a specific sin or series of sins that we feel guilt over, or conviction that we have committed
The pain or grief which we experience in consequence of the injury or inconvenience produced by our own conduct
An attempt to make restitution for a wrong, or in some way to reverse the harmful effects of the wrong or the omission where possible
A change of mind and heart, more than just sorrow for the past, and a new life of denying self and serving the Savior as king in self's place
Not just saying, "I'm sorry", but saying "I'm sorry, I'll never, ever do that again because my relationship with you means more to me than anything”
Not completed by a single act, it must be incorporated into our mind, till it become a fixed state, arising from a continual sense of our need of it
Sorrow or deep contrition for sin, as an offense and dishonor to God, a violation of his holy law, and ingratitude towards a Being of infinite benevolence
Not something God demands of us before He will take us back and which He could let us off if He chose, it is simply a description of what going back is like
A realization that what God wants from us and what we want from God are not going to be achieved by doing the same old things, thinking the same old thoughts
Reviewing our actions and feeling contrition or regret for past wrongs, accompanied by commitment to and actual actions that show and prove a change for the better
