To live in victory over the old nature, and to live in victory under the new nature

Being victor on our own account, through the strength and grace that Christ gives us

Not fixing our eyes upon the enemy, or upon the difficulties, or upon ourselves and our past failures, which will make us lose heart, and fail to receive the victory

Surrendering our whole being to be under God’s control, allowing Him to work in us both to will and to work, and acting upon the faith that He will do this in the way of victory

Taking hold of divine power, and with determination and perseverance resisting Satan, as Christ has given us example in His conflict with the foe in the wilderness of temptation

The consequence of efforts, some of which are victorious while others appear to be fruitless, which nevertheless all aim at a common goal, all drive at a common result - a decision, a conclusion which alone can provide victory
