Allowing God to guide our steps and direct our decisions
Denying ourselves, taking up our cross, and following God
Yielding upward, rather than to our current circumstances
Giving up the fight between our selfish sinful nature and God
Leaving the uncertainty of our will for the safety of God's will

Communicating to God our desire to be free from worry and the cares of this life
Letting go of our plans, and letting God have His way in every aspect of our lives
Letting go of the life we pictured, in order to have the life that God has planned
Getting out of God's way so that He can do in us what He also wants to do through us
The acknowledgement of God's will for our personal lives in even the smallest decisions
Denying our own will and desires, and without reservation taking on entirely the will of God
To be led and disposed of just as God pleases, with respect both to our outward and inward state
To destroy and put out of the way entirely, our idea of self; ideologies, desires, and preferences
Completely giving up our own will and subjecting our thoughts, ideas, and deeds to the will and teachings of God
Letting go of our own attempts to earn God’s favor and relying upon the finished work of Jesus Christ on our behalf
Not giving up as a defeated hero, but as a refugee from this world, escaping a life of slavery, starvation, and abuse
Letting go of our attachment to how things happen on the outside, and becoming more concerned with what happens on the inside
